In 1972, Nick co-founded with
Dave Gaw the law firm of Gaw Van Male. It has since
grown to seven principals, more than 20 attorneys, and
the largest locally-based firm in Napa Valley and Solano
County. Nick now serves Of Counsel to the firm.
His distinguished legal career began as an Assistant District
Counsel for the Sacramento District of the Army Corps of
Engineers. Then, he served as a Deputy District Attorney
for Napa County before entering private practice. He
has acted as Judge Pro-tem for the Napa and Solano County
Superior Courts.
Active in local civic affairs, Nick also is involved in state
and national politics. He served in Vietnam, and retired
as a Captain from the United States Naval Reserve. Admitted
to practice in Colorado and California, Nick focuses his
considerable experience in civil and criminal trial practice
and family law.
